La Jolla Coast Cove Walk in Winter Coat 15x15'
1/10
$200
La Jolla - California
La Jolla is right next to San Diego. After one big piece of cake, you get an even bigger one—this is how La Jolla has always seemed to me. I’m mainly talking about the Village of La Jolla. This painting was created during a short but unforgettable walk at La Jolla Cove. It’s a narrow path along the edge of the cliff with stunning views. First, I painted the same scene in watercolor and colored pencils. Many years later, in the Czech Republic, I felt like painting it again—this time digitally. If I didn’t tell you, you wouldn’t notice that if you sit on that bench, you’d be looking out at the Pacific Ocean.
Lunch with a View 18x24'
1/10
$250
La Jolla - California
This is another version of my old painting in watercolor and colored pencil. Today, you won’t find this place looking like this - or at least, I don’t think so. I couldn’t find it when I was looking for that restaurant. What you’re looking at is a view from Prospect Street in La Jolla toward La Jolla Cove, with that large stone arch or cave in the distance. I used bright “island” colors to make it look like a holiday destination - which it is - but in reality, the house has that worn wooden appearance typical of buildings along the Pacific coast. I’ve always loved the composition of this painting, so I had to paint it again.
Convergence of LA 16x16'
1/10
$185
Los Angeles - California
Los Angeles has become a place I visit often—for culture and for shopping. I still feel like I’ve never really seen it properly—but how could I, it’s so vast. To get around, you use different freeways, and I often took photos from the car. This view of the tracks and trains caught my attention because of the lines. It was good material for a composition. I created a fantasy. The skyscrapers don’t actually look like this, but maybe this is how I feel them. The colors are inspired by my abstract landscape painting, but they’ve been digitally adjusted.
Ocean Beach Skies 16x22'
1/10
$220
San Diego - California
San Diego has many beaches, and some of them are designated for dogs. They’re usually located right next to the regular beaches. The same is true at Ocean Beach. This painting is based on my second-oldest painting from the USA, which I created in watercolor. I kept the composition, decorative elements, and to some extent the color palette, but this time I used my mosaic style. For the medium, I chose a gouache brush in Procreate - one of my favorites. In the end, I’d say this painting is a combination of my old decorative style and my new mosaic style. This is exactly how I want others to see California’s beaches—very different, for example, from Greece, where I also lived. Everything here has a certain strength: the sun is very bright, the Pacific Ocean is powerful, and the people are free and courageous.
Catalina Carts 16x20'
1/10
$210
Catalina Island - California
I simply love this painting. I first painted it in watercolor and pastels, and then I made this digital version. Catalina is an island where Hollywood actors from the old Hollywood era -and not only them - went to relax. It’s right across from Los Angeles, and you can often see it from the coast. There are many handcrafted houses, and everyone gets around in golf carts. While this painting doesn’t show that it’s an island, it definitely captures its relaxed atmosphere. It’s truly different from any other islands I’ve visited in Europe.
Spring Pyramid 16x24'
1/10
$230
Menifee - California
We traveled a lot around the Temecula area. This painting was created during one of the spring trips in 2023, when everything was fresh and green. In the distance, you can see the “pyramids,” or volcanic hills. The color palette I used comes from an old drawing I did in Greece - another unusual coincidence.
Joy 16x24'

$230
Del Mar - California
Del Mar is right next to La Jolla. You’ll find a racetrack, an annual fair, and a dog beach there. Guess where this painting is from. I had a new iPhone and took photos of a beautiful sunset. There were only a few people and dogs around. This painting was created using an acrylic brush in Procreate, in a very unusual loose style for me at that time. I love it precisely for that—and also for the colors.
Mountains Have Colors 16x20'
1/10
$210
Inland Empire - California
The Inland Empire is a vast area east of Los Angeles and north of San Diego. It has many smaller and larger towns, some with names from Native American origins, like Temecula. The region is also surrounded by tall mountains, such as Mount Jacinto. The mountains in my photos often appeared rugged, brownish, as if rising from nothing, with sharp edges, yet beautiful in different daylight and across the seasons. They are located right by Mount Jacinto - often capped with snow in winter, and stretching toward Temecula. To highlight the beauty of this landscape, I used my mosaic technique and a limited yet striking color palette.
Cloudy Sunset 10x14'
1/4
$150
La Jolla- California
This small shelter is also from La Jolla Village. I photographed it on a cloudy day known as “June Gloom”—hence the name. I tried to find interesting shapes in the foliage and shrubs on this hill while also capturing the power and ruggedness of the Pacific Ocean. The colors were completely random, chosen even before I really started focusing on color harmony and interesting palettes. Every visit to La Jolla is deeply etched in my memory: the seals, the views, the plants, the architecture, the sunsets, the salty smell and taste, and my hair curling into ringlets from the humidity…
San Diego Shores 10x14'
1/4
$150
La Jolla- California
Another painting from San Diego. In fact, it’s Wind and Sea Beach in La Jolla. When I painted it, I didn’t know that. It wasn’t until I prepared a video of all my San Diego paintings that I looked at the map. There are many similar places around San Diego. I’d say this painting was one of my first in my new style, which I call the mosaic style - painting inside cut-out shapes with a uniform background. This painting is also one of my more abstract ones. I love this color palette. I got it from a photo I took of Prague. This way, the colors of the historic buildings are reflected in the wild waves of this vast ocean. To me, that’s true synchronicity.
Hollywood Blvd 8x11'
1/5
$135
Hollywood - California
Hollywood Boulevard didn’t impress me much at first. That’s why I wanted to go back again and again, to understand its charm. And I did - but only after attending musicals at the Pantages Theatre and visiting the Walk of Fame several times. This is a shot from the car, and that elephant will always remind me of the film Intolerance. The colors are inspired by Van Gogh’s sunflowers, and it feels like an urban jungle. One of my oldest paintings on the iPad.
